Iconic color yields 2023 collection
New Balance recently revealed the Grey Day 2023 Collection at the New Balance Store at PowerPlant Rockwell to put a shine on its timeless grey palette and enduring brand legacy.
The Grey Day collection of New Balance is made for everyone and draws inspiration from the future. It includes a range of T-shirts, joggers, hoodies, shorts and the exclusive Grey Day “Moon Daze” pack, which features exclusive variations of the 9060, 550, 580 and the Fresh Foam x More Trail v3 shoes.
“Grey has been a color synonymous with New Balance. The color’s transcendent nature has always reflected both our history of innovation and identity. Since New Balance started to pick up the market’s attention back in the US during the ‘80s, we’ve always used grey and neutral tones in pushing products such as the 327, 90/60,580, and our fan favorite, the 990s, among other sneakers,” said Bea Madrid, MAP Active marketing manager. “The color grey has always worked for our sneakers in the past with our brand growing traction in the industry and today, showing an homage to our classics through timeless collections whether these are retros, renditions, or new silhouettes.”
New Balance has emerged to be a fashion favorite in recent years, setting a new revenue record of $5.3 billion in 2022. New Balance global CEO Joe Preston has said that revenue could hit $10 billion “over the next few years”, seeing faster growth than their two larger rivals.
In a recent interview in CNBC, Tom Nikic, a senior vice president of private investment firm, Wedbush Securities which covers footwear and apparel sectors, said that the view of the New Balance brand today is drastically different from what it was 10 years ago—“They’ve got a much bigger lifestyle component of the brand. There’s a much bigger fashion aspect of the brand. It’s a much cooler brand today than it was 10 years ago.”
Guests during the celebration enjoyed the immersive space of the store with various activities to celebrate the brand’s heritage and style.
