Incoming college freshmen of De La Salle University (DLSU) experienced a true sense of belonging at the recent Frosh Welcoming held on August 25-26 and on August 30-September 2, 2022 at the DLSU campus in Taft Avenue, Manila.
Organized by the Central Committee of FW2022, in coordination with Lasallian Ambassadors, the University Student Government, the different organizations in DLSU, and different brand partners, Frosh Welcoming is an annual event filled with fun activities to mark the arrival of the current schoolyear’s freshmen.
True to the theme “Fiesta in the City,” the event had a lively and spirited atmosphere. At the Frosh Walk segment held on campus, various organizations and respective college governments formed a line to greet incoming Lasallians. Chanting “Welcome to La Salle!” they gifted each of the freshmen with freebies and prizes to encourage participation in the school’s different organizations.
Despite being conducted online through a video-conferencing service, Frosh Roulette proved a success as students made new friends via a system that had them conversing with each other in an allotted time before they were shuffled and assigned to other participants.
This is the first time since the declaration of the pandemic in March 2020 that Frosh Welcoming was held in person. It is likely that both freshmen and organizers will remember this event for years to come.
