Japan’s most hyped face mask is now here
YOU didn’t waste time in checking out the Uniqlo Airism face mask first thing this Friday, September 18, three months after it was launched in Japan.
Luckily the face mask available in the Philippines is the new and improved version. The first release of masks got a lot of criticism in Japan for being too hot, uncomfortable, and some had difficulty breathing especially during the Japanese summer.
The new Airism mask is designed to dry quickly and stay cool, and is available in three sizes, small (for kids), medium and large (adult sizes). Each pack contains three masks and retails for P590.
The Airism mask has a filter that delivers a bacterial filtration efficiency of 99%, blocking droplets and protecting the skin from bacteria, virus-contaminated particles, and pollen. The filter is AIRism mesh fabric. In addition, the triple-layer structure has a UPF 50+ rating, so it cuts 90% of ultraviolet rays.
Uniqlo even donated 500,000 Airism facemasks to Filipino frontliners.
The reusable Airism mask can be machine-washed using regular laundry detergent up to 20 times, and still maintain its usefulness. Its inner layer is free of the stiffness or thickness typical of non-woven and cotton masks, reducing stress, and the triple-layer mesh structure keeps the mask light and thin, optimizing breathability thus giving the wearer a comfortable and snug fit.
Tips on properly wearing the mask: the side with the Airism logo should be inside and on the lower left cheek (sorry for those who want to flex the logo); don’t wear the mask during strenuous exercise and physical activity, or directly under the hot sun.
The mask is available in all Uniqlo stores in the Philippines and its online store.
