They also give LGBTQ+ a voice
To promote inclusivity and LGBTQ+ representation, the Young Entrepreneurs’ Society (YES) will hold Quest: True Colors, a two-day advocacy webinar and concert celebration on May 15 and 22, 2021 via Facebook Live.
The event celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and expression by providing online activities not just for the Lasallian community but also for other schools and colleges that are willing to join. With over 30 organization partners and 10 corporate sponsors, Quest: True Colors is a sure way of bringing the online student community together.
The Advocacy Webinar held May 15 included speakers who shared their experiences and knowledge about the LGBTQ+ community. Janlee Dungca, an AB Psychology graduate of Ateneo de Manila University and the national director of Miss Trans Global PH, and Josher Quizon, the president/co-founder of Aspiring Accredited Organization DLSU PRISM and a current AB Political Science student of DLSU will be the guest speakers for the event.
The Concert Celebration is on May 22, 5:30 PM – 6:45 PM. YES will partner with Green Music Collective (GMC) to provide a platform for artists to promote their music and entice their fellow Lasallians to try out different gigs and events even if online. The organization will present two of their fastest rising acts: The Acquainted and Crebz. The Quest Cencomm have also invited soul duo Leanne & Naara, as well as in-demand OPM band Lola Amour to headline the culminating concert to be livestreamed on QUEST’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DLSUYESQuest/
“Me and my fellow project heads thought of this event as a way to promote and celebrate diversity in the lead up to Pride Month. Originally it was supposed to be a one-day event, but we decided to move it towards two separate days for the speakers’ talks and the artists’ performances to breathe and make their own impact on our audience, so that they may fully enjoy the activities in store for them” said Zach Adao, the co-project head and president of GMC.
Moreover, Quest has been a staple of YES as its flagship event held every year. The project heads for this event decided to come up with the theme of Pride and Inclusivity as a way of promoting and celebrating each and everyone’s individuality and expression.
