Smartwatch has lasting battery (5-minute charge)
For at least a month now, I’ve been trying out OPPO’s latest smartwatch, the OPPO Watch Free, and here’s what I think about it!
It’s made to complete your look and complement your style
Right off the bat, I can say the OPPO Watch Free certainly gives an exceptional first impression. By its sheer straightforward design, the smartwatch effortlessly goes with any look you’re trying to go for. And I’ve tried this myself, pairing it comfortably with a sporty-casual outfit. Even with dressy wear it just easily completes the look.
OPPO Watch Free has a 1.64 inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass with a silicone strap (available in vanilla and black). The display has a screen resolution of 280 x 456 pixels and supports 16.7 million pixels —just perfect for color accuracy! Speaking of colors, one thing I love about the OPPO Watch Free is that the display goes well with the color of your outfit. This unique detail is made possible through OPPO’s AI Smart Watch Face feature. By simply taking a photo of your outfit, the AI will modify the watch face to match your look and style—truly a watch for every outfit, literally.
It’s built for lasting comfort
With over a number of functions and features, the OPPO Watch Free is indeed an all-around smartwatch for everyday needs. Using the smartwatch, I was greatly impressed by its long-lasting battery. At first I was skeptical about the 14-day claim that OPPO stated in its website, but sure enough, the smartwatch lasted longer than what is claimed (at least in my case).
That isn’t the best part about its battery though. OPPO also claims that “a 5-minute charge can last a day,” and again the smartwatch did not disappoint. For an outgoing and sporty person like myself, I’m definitely a sucker for a smartwatch, and this quick-charge feature surely is an advantage!
It’s packed with great features for such an affordable price
Although the OPPO Watch Free is a non-Wear OS smartwatch, it’s still fitness- and health-focused. Like its big brother (the OPPO Watch), the OPPO Watch Free includes an OSLeep All-Scenario Sleep Monitoring feature. Turning on this feature will allow your smartwatch to monitor your entire sleep journey, from before, during to after bedtime, providing insightful and useful reports.
One notable moment I had was when I woke up dehydrated one morning, and the smartwatch knew that I needed to drink water to avoid the groggy feeling I had (a fact). Health management has never been this easy!
Now let’s go a bit techy on its specifications! Functionality-wise, it delivers an excellent performance. The smartwatch is built with Bluetooth 5.0, with a six-axis acceleration and gyroscope sensor, optical heart rate sensor, optical blood oxygen sensor, and an ambient light sensor. It requires Android 6.0 or later and iOS 10.0 or later. In terms of safety, the watch has a water resistance of 5 ATM, meaning it can withstand pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters.
Additionally, the smartwatch also provides over 100 workout modes you can choose from, and basic features such as message notifications, incoming call notifications, call rejection, timer, alarm clock, weather, playback control, and most importantly the Find My Phone feature. Off the box, along with the smartwatch, you’re presented with a charging base, a quick guide, and a security guide.
Overall, the OPPO Watch Free is definitely an impressive smartwatch. It’s genuinely a premium and fashionable smartwatch that’s made for comfort, health, sports, and style.
The OPPO Watch Free is available online and in store for ₱5,999.00.
