Friends and schoolmates hold fund raising dance workshop for injured dance major

UP Dance major Bryll Dumandan met a motorcycle accident which left him with a fractured left leg.

For someone who considers dancing as his life, the accident was beyond comprehension. But friends and supporters from both his former and current schools, the Philippine High School for the Arts and University of the Philippines Diliman College of Music, came out to show their support. They have organized a fund-raising drive to cover his rehabilitation and medical expenses.

De La Salle-College of St. Benilde alumna, Kare Adea will conduct two dance workshops via Zoom on March 11 (Classical Ballet) and March 12 (Contemporary dance):

            Adea is former Principal Dancer of Ballet  Philippines –dancing for 15 years with the company in which she essayed several lead roles, including Giselle in “Giselle”, Princess Aurora in “The Sleeping Beauty”, Snow White in “Snow White”, Oryang in “Rock Supremo”, and Encantada and Babaylan in “Encantada”.

She choreographed contemporary pieces in the company’s 2010 and 2011 Neo Filipino entitled “Reysing” and “The Bar”. Kare was one of the contributing choreographers for Ballet Philippines’ “Sarongbanggi” and “Awitin mo Isasayaw ko”.

In 2013, she received an artist fellowship grant from The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) dedicated to explore art and dance for seven months in New York. 

At present, she is a freelance dance artist and choreographer. She is currently the trainer and consultant of Saint Benilde Romancon Dance Company (Contemporary).
