OPPO Reno 8T for clear, fast moving action
The newly launched OPPO Reno 8T boasts having a 100MP portrait camera, and the phone’s Image Clear Engine ensures that one can easily capture a clear constant motion. And what better way to try it out than during the 53rd Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (WNCAA) Street Dance Competition, held last April 1, 2023, at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Collegiate athletics competitions are back in full face-to-face force, and the WNCAA’s Street Dance Competition was one of them. Six member schools participated in the event: Assumption College San Lorenzo, St. Paul College Pasig, University of Asia and the Pacific, Chiang Kai Shek, Centro Escolar University and University of Makati under the High School and College categories.
The WNCAA Street Dance Competition was launched recently during the league’s 53rd Season.
Student photographer Alonzo Domingo captured the performances of the schools using the Reno 8T. Though used to using an SLR camera in capturing moments, he right away found the Reno 8T to be easy to navigate, “One thing that stood out for me was its capability in capturing motion in the normal photo mode in only a fairly-lit area, as if I was shooting with a fast shutter speed on a regular SLR camera,” he said.
Domingo added that the PRO mode is what photographers like him would have lots of fun shooting with. The Pro mode gives one access to manual controls of the camera as if it was an SLR camera, where one could control the shutter speed, ISO and white balance. “Being able to control the shutter speed and aperture in a phone is already one thing, but being able to control the ISO and white balance, that’s a whole other story. Shooting fully manual or ‘PRO’ mode was really fun but more importantly practical for me.”
Aside from the camera, the best feature Domingo raved about is the 120hz refresh rate screen. “I personally use a gaming monitor with a similar refresh rate and having one in your hands feels good.”
The winner for the High School Division was Assumption College San Lorenzo and Centro Escolar University for the College Division.
The event was just a primer to a much bigger WNCAA event—the Cheer Dance Competition on May 13, 2023, also in the newly renovated Rizal Memorial Coliseum, YOU.COM.PH as official media partner.
