Tri-level league continues to champion women’s sports
The Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA) opens its 56th season on September 6, 2025 at the Makati Coliseum.
The WNCAA’s 56th season is a historic milestone in championing women’s sports in the Philippines. Since its founding in 1970, the WNCAA has remained the nation’s premier tri-level league, continuing its mission of empowering athletes and creating opportunities through sports.
The season was announced in a press conference hosted at the Assumption College, Pardo Theatre, Henry Sy Building, where school representatives, athletes, coaches, and league officials gathered to celebrate the start of another exciting year.

This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Building Legacies,” reflects the WNCAA’s enduring commitment not only to excellence in competition but also to inspiring change, promoting inclusivity, and strengthening the legacy of Filipina athletes for generations to come.
A Season of Competition and Camaraderie
The 56th season will showcase athletes from 16 active member schools in NCR and 38 associate schools nationwide, competing across a wide array of sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Futsal, Badminton, Swimming, Chess, Taekwondo, Poomsae, Table Tennis, Tennis, Cheerleading, Street Dance, and Cheerdance.

Spanning all divisions — elementary, high school, and collegiate — the league continues its tradition of nurturing talent from the grassroots level, giving young athletes a platform to grow, excel, and inspire others through their discipline and passion for the game.
Building on 55 Years of Legacy
For more than half a century, the WNCAA has been more than a league. It has been a movement for empowerment, shaping student-athletes into leaders, professionals, and role models. Many alumnae of the WNCAA have carried their experiences beyond the courts and arenas, making their mark in education, business, government, and professional sports.
This season, the WNCAA continues to expand its reach with renewed partnerships, stronger support systems, and innovative programmes designed to uplift women’s sports in the Philippines. The league looks forward to celebrating not only victories in the games, but also the legacies built by every athlete who wears her school’s colours with pride.
Join the Celebration
As the 56th season kickstarts with the opening ceremonies on September 6, 2025 at the Makati Coliseum, the WNCAA invites students, parents, alumni, and sports enthusiasts nationwide to be part of this historic journey. Together, let us celebrate the strength, talent, and unstoppable spirit of Filipina athletes.
Welcome to the 56th Season of the WNCAA — Breaking Barriers, Building Legacies.
