After two-years of lockdown, here’s an escapade right in the city

Mall goers in the north of the metro would experience something extra and novel when they visit SM Fairview. It’s the mini-skating rink right in the mall. With an area of 200 sqm, it’s perfect for those who just like to try out what’s it like to ice-skate without feeling overwhelmed.

Group marketing manager Pojie Manabat said, “The mini-ice rink installation was put up to have additional mall attractions, to have more activities, aside from the shopping and dining.”

And to celebrate the launch, SM Fairview coincided the opening with Earth Hour and a performance of two budding figure skaters, Celine Isabelle Tansipek, 12, and Amaya Francesca Lagmay, 13. Grade 8 student Tansipek won bronze in the 2018 Asian Junior figure skating challenge in Beijing, and gold in the 2018 Indonesia Open National Figure Skating Championship, held in Jakarta.

Lagmay is a 13-year-old 7th grader at La Salle Greenhills and is part of the Philippine Skating Union’s development program. She has also competed abroad like in Bangkok, Thailand and Nagoya, Japan.
